Spring Grove at square one with new ambulance

SPRING GROVE – Fire officials will restart the district’s ambulance purchasing process this month.

The district board of trustees met last week to withdraw its formal offer to buy a MedTec ambulance, a product of Wisconsin-based OshKosh Corp., after the parent company announced it is discontinuing its sale of MedTec ambulances.

“We signed on July 25 [to purchase MedTec],” Fire Chief Rich Tobiasz said. “On the 26th we heard back from OshKosh Corp. that they decided it was closing its door and will no longer be making the ambulances Jan. 1.”
