Folk fest planned at McHenry church

Memphis-based blues musician Andy Cohen will headline a minifolk festival at 7 p.m. Thursday on the lawn of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 5603 Bull Valley Road, McHenry.

“Just Plain Folk – Songs About Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things” also will feature longtime Chicago-based folk musician Norman “Mad Dawg” Siegel and McHenry County’s own The Siblings – Cheryl Niemo, Harold Rail, Dave Dreyer and Andy Andrick.

Concertgoers should bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy music in the summer air.

The performance will benefit Compassion for Campers. A $10 donation is requested for admission.
