Misguided policy
To the Editor:
The recent decision by the Boy Scouts of America to uphold its policy of banning gay leaders and scouts is not only misguided, bigoted and sad, but a knockdown body blow to the kids who may just be discovering their true orientation.
Hundreds of Catholic parishes sponsor Boy Scout troops so as Catholics, we are particularly distressed by BSA’s policy because of our church’s continuous teaching and affirmation of the dignity of all persons.
