Algonquin woman charged 
with hit-and-run

LAKE IN THE HILLS – An Algonquin woman was charged with hit-and-run after police said she struck a man and sped off.

Cristie Arawec, 30, was backing out of the Thornton’s gas station at 2250 W. Algonquin Road about 6 p.m. Sunday when she struck a 53-year-old Algonquin man, Lake in the Hills police said. She was driving a four-door Ford sedan.

The man was treated by paramedics from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District for minor injuries that didn’t require further medical attention.
