Woodstock woman pleads not guilty in fatal hit-and-run

WOODSTOCK – A Woodstock woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges she stole marijuana from a man who then jumped on the hood of her car and later died from his injuries.

Hanna Schacht, 22, is charged with one count each of theft and leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury or death.

According to police, John C. Kurchina, also of Woodstock, arranged to buy drugs from Joseph A. Woodell. On May 20, he went to a gathering at Woodell’s home at 610 Lawndale Ave.
