Football practice begins throughout the area

It's one of the most anticipated days of the high school sports year, the opening of practice for fall sports, most notably football.

Football in the area has continued to improve and 2012 promises to be another great year.

For the first day of practice, the Northwest Herald's Joe Stevenson visited Class 6A champion Prairie Ridge. The Wolves will look slightly different this season. Most of their starters have graduated and they'll also be without Jordan Getzelman, the area's leading rusher in 2011, who committed to Missouri for baseball and will not play football this season.
