Green Party candidate added to House race

CARBONDALE (AP) – The race to replace a retiring southern Illinois congressman will now include a third-party candidate.

The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan reports that 59-year-old Green Party candidate Paula Bradshaw will be on the November ballot in the campaign for the 12th Congressional District seat and will take part in three debates before then.

The emergency room nurse and political activist from Carbondale faces Democrat William Enyart and Republican Jason Plummer in the race to succeed Democrat Jerry Costello.
