Preserver needed

To the Editor:

Current tax-and-spend policies in McHenry County are spinning out of control. Property values go down but tax rates for residents and businesses go up. Increases in taxes are detriments that prevent new businesses and families from relocating here. The Wisconsin state line is nearby, and competes for our tax dollars. We need county, school and other taxing districts to hold the line on tax rate increases.

Presently we have no real growth out here, and we need to rely on public sector officials and administrators to more aggressively find ways to control costs. We should be reducing taxes, not increasing them.
