Huntley frees up money to acquire late-1800s mill
HUNTLEY – The Village Board took final steps Thursday to purchase a historical building in downtown Huntley and next will have to decide whether to demolish it or redevelop it.
The decision likely won’t be unanimous. Trustees, mainly Harry Leopold and Pam Fender, differed on what to do with the 19th century mill at 11801 Main St., shortly before the board voted unanimously to free $115,000 in the budget to pay for the building.
The village hopes to close the property Aug. 10.
