A hack at whooping cough
State requires students be vaccinated against pertussis
WOODSTOCK – New state immunization requirements for students aim to curb one of the worst outbreaks of pertussis on record.
Approximately 1,200 cases of the highly contagious bacterial infection – known as whooping cough – have been reported in Illinois this year, up from 468 in all of 2011.
