Cubs rookies rise together
CHICAGO – Back when Brett Jackson and Josh Vitters were just hype, former first-round draft picks toiling in the minor leagues, they shared a dream.
Of course, Jackson and Vitters hoped to one day don Cubs uniforms, but they often talked about earning their first big league call up together. They got their wish this week, and the duo couldn’t be happier.
“I’m really glad they did it that way because ... if one of us struggles, or if we both struggle, then I think it’ll be easier because we’ll be able to talk to each other about it and learn a lot,” Vitters said. “I think it’s just the perfect way to come in.”
