Garza
expects to return this year

But if all goes according to plan, Garza expects to make another start before the season ends. The Cubs shut down Garza indefinitely after placing him on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a right elbow stress reaction. The decision caught Garza off guard.

“I was throwing through this thing,” Garza said. “To me I thought it was just another bump. I’m fine, we’ll keep going. Doc said you’ve got to shut it down, and I’ve got to listen to the doc.
