Inmate crew spiffs up roads, more

WOODSTOCK – The inmate road crew at the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office has spent the summer collecting nearly 300 bags of trash along 175 miles of county roadways.

The inmate worker program has assisted Alden, Dunham, Marengo, Chemung, Greenwood, Grafton, McHenry, Dorr and Hebron townships.

Inmates also have painted guardrails, removed trees and brush and recycled of hundreds of gallons of old paint for the Environmental Protection Agency through Marengo Township.
