More parents seek sports equipment savings
CRYSTAL LAKE – Some require glove, bat and helmet. Others, a shiny set of clubs.
Whatever the case, the price of playing a sport adds up in a hurry. And with the rising fees associated with putting a kid through organized and school leagues, many parents are turning to sporting goods resellers to cut costs.
In the last few years, the percentage of used equipment making up all sales at Play It Again Sports in Crystal Lake has risen from roughly 25 percent to 40 percent.
