Peterson judge bars state witness testimony
JOLIET, Ill. — The judge at Drew Peterson's trial has barred two witnesses from testifying that the former Illinois police officer once boasted to them that he could make a murder look accidental.
Judge Edward Burmila ruled Tuesday out of earshot of jurors.
Peterson has pleaded not guilty to murder in the 2004 death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. Her death was initially ruled an accident. But it was reclassified after Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared in 2007.
