Three injured in T-bone accident on Route 23

MARENGO – Two motorists and a child were transported to the hospital Monday with non-life threatening injuries following a T-bone accident on Route 23, according to the Marengo Fire Protection District.

A vehicle was attempting to cross on Harmony Road at the Route 23 intersection at around 11 a.m. when it was struck by another vehicle, authorities said. The force of the impact trapped a 10-year-old girl inside.

Emergency personnel later extricated her from the vehicle, fire officials said. The child and driver were transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock.
