Beauty tech industry shows signs of growth
LAKE IN THE HILLS – A nail technician since age 19, Jenny Lee Miller decided to restore her license earlier this year after six years away from the job.
The 52-year-old Lake in the Hills resident was pleased to find that despite the fact the recession had hit since she gave her last manicure, the industry still was rolling along strong as ever.
"I think the nail tech industry in general will continue to grow," Miller said Tuesday, her final day of classes at A.B.C. School of Cosmetology and Nail Technology Inc. "Even in this economy, women love to take care of themselves. This is one of the areas I don't think is going to go downhill at all. I think it's going to maintain or get better."
