Bik’n to Keep the Beat run aims to buy defibrillators

WOODSTOCK – Sara Kathleen Schacht was a bright, young co-ed when she died in 2003 of sudden cardiac arrest.

The 2002 Woodstock High School graduate had dilated cardiomyopathy caused by a viral infection that settled in her heart.

“She went [to the doctor] for a sore throat, and that’s how we found out she had a heart condition,” said Schacht’s mother, Erin Anderegg.
