Rabid bat found in Arlington Heights village hall
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS — A rabid bat was found in the village hall in Arlington Heights.
The village says the bat was found on the fourth floor, which isn't open to the public and houses the police department crime lab. Village officials say the Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control informed the village on Tuesday that the bat was rabid.
In response, the village says it will close the crime lab until the building is clear of bats. The village has hired an animal control company to rid the village hall of any bats. That's expected to take four to six days.
