Wind finally kind to DeJesus

CHICAGO – Outfielder David DeJesus will never be mistaken as a home run hitter.

The winds at Wrigley Field have kept a few of his hard-hit balls inside the park this season, but he wouldn’t be denied Wednesday against the Houston Astros. DeJesus hit two home runs in the Cubs’ 7-2 win. Justin Germano (2-2) picked up his first quality start of the season, pitching 61⁄3 innings and allowing two runs on five hits.

“He finally hit those kind of balls when the wind was blowing a little bit,” manager Dale Sveum said. “It wasn’t a big wind, but enough. He’s been snake bit on balls he hit like that with the wind blowing in. It was nice to see him finally get a couple.”
