Woodstock to beef up Labor Day patrols

WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Police Department will step up its late-night patrols during the 2012 Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over-Click It or Ticket” crackdown from Friday through Sept. 3.

The extra enforcement against impaired drivers and seat-belt law violators is in response to the disproportionate number of traffic deaths involving alcohol and unbelted motorists, according to a department news release.

The period of midnight to 3 a.m. is the deadliest time on Illinois roadways, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
