BARRINGTON – Diabetes affects nearly 26 million people in the United States – more than 8 percent of the U.S. population, according to the American Diabetes Association and the National Centers for Disease
Control.
It’s estimated that 7 million Americans are undiagnosed and an additional 79 million ages 20 and older have pre-diabetes.
Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital offers regular community-based screenings to address the diabetes
epidemic.
