Analysis: Bears had highs, lows in Bourbonnais

BOURBONNAIS – More than three weeks after the Bears’ first practice of training camp at Olivet Nazarene University, coach Lovie Smith thanked his hosts.

“This is a second home for us,” said Smith, who donated his training camp bicycle to a young boy after Thursday’s practice. “In nine years coming down here, besides my main home, I’ve spent more time down here than most places.”

Smith’s next goal is to help the Bears go places in the playoffs. After a walk-through practice today, the team will head north to Halas Hall for the season.
