Chicago police investigate death of dog owner
CHICAGO - Police in Chicago are investigating the death of a 44-year-old man after one of his dogs was discovered gnawing on the man's dead body.
Police officials say Charles Hagerman's wife arrived at their home on the city's South Side on Wednesday night to find one of his pit bulls on top of her husband.
Authorities say they're conducting a death investigation but they suspect Hagerman was already dead when the dog was found biting him on the neck. An autopsy is planned.
