Local knowledge helps Sun City's Tiesman in Senior Amateur
HUNTLEY – Harlan Tiesman held a distinct advantage heading into the first round of the McHenry County Senior Amateur Open.
A nine-year resident of Sun City, the 68-year-old plays Whisper Creek three times a week, so being tied for second in the first flight of the Super Senior Division at 5-over-par 77 wasn‘t a surprise.
“I double bogeyed (holes) nine and 18,” Tiesman said. “But I’m still happy with a 77.”
