Museum retiree to be celebrated

UNION – The public is invited to a farewell open house for retiring Museum Administrator Nancy Fike from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 26 at the McHenry County Historical Society’s museum, 6422 Main St. in Union.

Scheduled remarks and a presentation will begin at 2 p.m.

Fike will retire at the end of the month after 31 years as curator and then as museum administrator of the historical society.

To honor her contributions to the historical society, a $1,000 college scholarship in her name will be awarded annually to a McHenry County high school senior.

The public is welcome at the open house to reminisce and laugh with Fike before she retires. Cake and punch will be served.
