New guy fires three shots at his girlfriend's fleeing ex
MARENGO – A Marengo resident shot at his girlfriend’s “ex” as the former boyfriend fled the man’s home early Friday, police said.
Shortly after 4 a.m. Friday, Donald P. Crotty Jr., 21, of McHenry, tried to enter 820 Dietz Road, the home of Benjamin Secor, 26. Secor’s girlfriend, Crotty’s ex, was at the home.
Text messages were exchanged throughout the evening, and culminated with Crotty attempting to confront Secor and the woman, Police Chief Joe Hallman said.
