On Campus: Sidearm approach changes C-G grad’s game for better
Alex Posey arrived at Rend Lake College last fall as a full-time first baseman/designated hitter and a part-time pitcher.
One practice not only changed Posey’s role for the National Junior College Athletic Association school in downstate Ina, but it also changed his baseball future.
“I was playing catch one day with another guy, and I threw sidearm across the field from first base,” said Posey, a Cary-Grove graduate. “My coach said, ‘Have you ever tried that from the mound?’ ”
