OSHA cites Kankakee facility for health violations
KANKAKEE, Ill. — A Johnson Controls facility in Kankakee has been cited for five health violations involving workers and asbestos.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed fines totaling more than $59,000.
OSHA says the company failed to required workers to wear appropriate respirators and use protective clothing, among other violations. The agency inspected the work site after receiving a complaint about alleged hazards.
