Pilots take to the sky in Chicago Air & Water Show

CHICAGO (AP) — The aerial acrobatics have begun at the Chicago Air & Water Show.

Members of the U.S. Navy's parachute team, the Leap Frogs, began the event by hurling themselves from aircraft at 12,500 feet. During their free fall descent, the jumpers can hit speeds of 180 mph by putting their arms tight to their sides before pulling their chutes. One of the jumpers was towing a giant American flag.

They were followed Saturday by the U.S. Army's parachute team, the Golden Knights.
