Bears’ starters shine in victory
CHICAGO – Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall renewed their friendship during training camp over tray-table lunches in the cafeteria and board-game battles in cramped dorm rooms.
On Saturday, Cutler and Marshall had 60,440 witnesses to attest to their chemistry.
The Bears’ 33-31 win against the Washington Redskins will be remembered most for its beginning, although the middle and end also offered reasons for optimism. Robbie Gould drilled a 57-yard field goal with 31 seconds remaining to secure the win for the Bears, who improved to 1-1 in the preseason with a pair of exhibition road games remaining.
