Newell Street parking
 options up for a vote

WOODSTOCK – The City Council will consider dedicating on-street parking for a local business owner who plans to expand his building to accommodate offices of a second state agency.

Earlier this month, Tom Harding asked the City Council for permission to buy and raze a more than 100-year-old home for a parking lot for his building at 113 Newell St. The city’s Historic Preservation Commission recommended against that.

The state Department of Child and Family Services is in Harding’s building, and more parking is required if Harding is to move forward with a planned expansion.
