Suspect arrested in gunshots near grocery store
CRYSTAL LAKE – A Crystal Lake man will appear in court later this month after authorities linked him to an alleged shooting near Jewel-Osco several weeks ago.
Cameron Ratcliff, 30, has been charged with felony counts of reckless discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon, and defacing the identification markings on a firearm.
A police officer on foot patrol around 1:45 a.m. July 31 heard what appeared to be several gunshots coming the area of Virginia Road and Teckler Boulevard near Jewel-Osco, according to the Crystal Lake Police Department. A search of the area did not turn up anything, but information was gathered the next day that identified Ratcliff as the alleged shooter.
