Great police work

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to commend Chief Larry Mason and Officer Tom Sink of the Wonder Lake Police Department on the arrest of several offenders who broke into 12 vehicles in our community on July 26.

On the morning of July 27, I entered my vehicle that was parked on my drive, only to find it had been illegally entered and my personal property taken. I quickly went to the police department to report, and I was cared for in a courteous and professional manner by Ms. Lori Bissell, administrative clerk, who later called me back and told me Chief Mason would meet me at my residence.

When I arrived at my home, Chief Mason processed my car and, much to my surprise, had recovered my personal belongings taken from my vehicle. Chief Mason informed me that Officer Sink was on alert patrol in the area when he spotted suspicious individuals carrying the proceeds from several crimes. He quickly took them into custody.

Please share my heartfelt thank you with these dedicated public servants. I was very pleased with the service they provided and happy to know we have such professionals working in our community.
