UNION – The Union Road Rally kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 14.
The road rally will start at the Union Village Hall and cover the Marengo-Union area. It is open to anyone as long as one member in the car is from Marengo or Union.
This year, the rally also will incorporate silly Olympic events to challenge participants.
“Last year, teams had to play miniature golf, make and fly a paper airplane into a waste basket and put a Lego model together under a time constraint,” said the Rev. Frank Szewczyk of St. John’s UCC in Union in a news release. “This year, participants will be challenged again with points awarded for the successful completion of the Olympics, in addition to their road rally score.”
Teams can pick up entry forms at Prairie Bank or call St. John’s UCC at 815-923-4203, and a form will be mailed. Teams also may register the night of the event. The cost is $10 for a team of no more than six people. For information, call Szewczyk at 815-923-4203.
