McHENRY – The McHenry Conference of the St. Vincent De Paul Society will host its annual Friends of the Poor Walk on Sept. 15 to support services to people with emergency needs: food, shelter, clothing, utility assistance,
medical assistance, transportation and other individual needs.

The McHenry Conference, which consists of The Church of the Holy Apostles, St. Mary’s, St. Patrick’s and St. John’s, was ranked third in the nation last year for donations for the walk that began in 2008, raising $1.4 million, according to a news release from the conference.

The McHenry Conference will host its 5K walk at 8 a.m. Sept. 15 at Veteran’s Memorial Park in McHenry.
