NYT report on James Holmes

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

The New York Times has posted an in-depth story on Aurora, Colo., shooting suspect James Holmes on its website.

Holmes is charged with killing 12 and wounding 58 during a July 20 midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises." Among those killed was John Larimer of Crystal Lake, a sailor in the U.S. Navy who was stationed at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora.

Despite a widespread media blackout – investigators; the University of Colorado at Denver, where Holmes had been a student; and Holmes' family are not talking – the Times story offers more clues about the weeks and months leading up to shooting, including a text he sent to a classmate inquiring about dysphoric mania.
