Mr. and Mrs. Lahey

MARENGO – George and Dorothy Lahey of Marengo celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 19 with family and friends at the Woodstock Moose Lodge. The event was hosted by their children.

Dorothy Jean Murry and George Patrick Lahey were married Aug. 18, 1962, at St. Domitilla Catholic Church in Hillside. They first lived in Bellwood after they were married.

He was a pipefitter for Chrysler Corp. in Belvidere until he retired Oct. 1, 2006.

She was a manager at Brandt Pharmacy in Marengo. She has been retired since July 2005.

They are members of Woodstock Moose Lodge, Belvidere American Legion and Model T Ford Club International. Their hobbies are touring in their Model T and Model A, rubber stamping, knitting and reading.

They have a son, Thomas Lahey of Bermuda, and a daughter, Carolynn Callaby of Spring Grove.

They also have three grandchildren.
