Algonquin’s Lubecker makes it his business to be funny
If AJ Lubecker’s typing something into his phone, it’s likely the makings of a joke he’ll come back to later.
The 18-year-old Algonquin native has appeared steadily on stages throughout the Chicago area for the past several years, performing a stand-up comedy act that has earned him comparisons to Ray Romano and Mitch Hedberg.
“I’m like deadpan, a little off-beat,” said Lubecker, who first appeared on stage as part of an Open Mic at age 15. He’s been booked for performances ever since.
