Castro agrees to extension
CHICAGO – The potential seems limitless for Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro, a two-time All-Star at 22 years old.
While bringing a World Series title to the North Side is atop his wish list, Castro’s personal endeavor to follow the path of his idol is just beginning. Castro wants to be the next Derek Jeter, a complete, all-around player and the face of a franchise.
Tuesday’s seven-year, $60 million contract extension, ensuring he stays with the Cubs through the rebuilding process, is the first step.
