McHenry County undersheriff at center of complaint
WOODSTOCK – Another candidate has put his name into the race for McHenry County sheriff – and also filed a complaint about the undersheriff to a federal investigative agency.
Undersheriff Andrew Zinke announced nearly a year ago that he wants to replace Sheriff Keith Nygren, who said that his current term, which ends in 2014, will be his last.
Attorney Jim Harrison says he, too, plans to run as a Republican – but that Zinke must resign to run because of a federal law aimed at preventing government employees from using their position to influence partisan elections.
