Animals in hurricane sent to Ringwood

RINGWOOD – About 60 dogs and 30 cats – refugees from New Orleans shelters damaged or flooded by Hurricane Isaac – arrived Tuesday at Lucky-E Kennel in Ringwood.

“We got a heads-up about the animals beforehand, but we didn’t know how many,” said Vanessa Everett, co-owner of Lucky-E Kennel. “It all happened so fast.

“We have never had this amount of animals before. We are more so set up for dogs, and it’s been a bit of a scramble.”
