Arrive home safely

To the Editor:

It is my understanding that when it is raining and wipers are going, cars are to have their headlights on. On Aug. 26, coming back from a weekend road trip on my motorcycle in the overcast rainy weather, I lost count of the number of vehicles that did not have their headlights on.

If a car then hits a motorcyclist, the driver says, “I did not see them.” My reply to that is, “I want to see you so for the safety of all motorcyclists on the road, please turn on your headlights.” When it is raining, it is very difficult to see the road and debris, and we all want to arrive home safely.
