MCCD to host old-time concert

RINGWOOD – Georgia Rae’s Family Band will perform from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 7 on the back patio of the Lost Valley Visitor Center as part of the McHenry County Conservation District’s First Friday Concert series.

The center is at Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Road in Ringwood.

The Georgia Rae’s Family Band plays a mix of old-time waltzes and bluegrass with a bit of “edginess.” The ensemble is built around fiddler Georgia Rae Mussared, 13, and features the talents of sisters Quin, 11, and Kelly Jo, 16, playing mandolin, banjo, washboard and spoons, and mom, Roni, on guitar.
