Samardzija takes another tough loss
CHICAGO – Quality starts have not translated to wins for Cubs pitcher Jeff Samardzija.
Samardzija recorded his team-leading 15th quality start Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers, but the offense flailed, managing only four hits in a 3-1 loss.
Samardzija (8-12) gave up three runs (two earned) in his seven-inning outing. His control was on point against the Brewers (62-67), striking out 10 without allowing a walk.
