Family ‘flips’ misfortune
The Markussen family has faced a lot of adversity over the years – life lessons and unpredictable occurrences that most would not wish on their own worst enemy.
Jill Markussen, a mother of six, lost her home twice in four years, once after losing her job and again after a house fire.
She also endured what many consider a parent’s worst nightmare: A lifelong battle with liver disease claimed the life of her 24-year-old daughter, Tanya, in 2008.
