ISLAND LAKE – Residents packed the village hall gymnasium Thursday night to hear the village’s presentation of a plan to build a multimillion-dollar municipal complex.

Ultimately, it was clear Island Lake officials have more homework to do, along with a team of design and financing consultants.

Spencer Skinner, of architectural design firm BKV Group, said construction of a municipal building would cost about $5 million. That would cost the village $28,500 a month under a 20-year payment plan, or $22,100 a month under a 30-year plan.
