Jager celebration set for Wednesday in Algonquin

Jacobs High School will honor one of its most famous alumni, Olympian Evan Jager, at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in front of the Thirsty Whale in the Algonquin Commons.

Jager, 23, took sixth place in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Summer Olympic Games in early August in London. Jager, a 2007 Jacobs graduate, won four state titles in high school.

Jager recently finished his track and field season and is coming home for a couple weeks to see his parents, Joel and Cathy, and friends.
