MCC questions
To the Editor:
Some time back, the Northwest Herald ran some informative articles concerning McHenry County College), the plans for expansion, and the re-doing of the MCC image. These elicited several well-thought-out letters questioning the wisdom of what was being considered.
I think it is about time for you to do a follow-up, which should answer the following questions: In view of the economic situation, was it really prudent to change the school colors from the attractive blue and red that MCC teams have worn for years to the purple and gold that the new president seems to prefer? Or, if the new president didn’t make that decision, who is the person responsible? Could a lot of money have been saved had it not been necessary to re-do the gym floor in the new colors? What about the need for new team uniforms, in some cases not that long after a previous purchase of new team uniforms in the blue and red combination?
