Well, I received it in the mail a few weeks ago: an invitation to my 45th high school reunion. Most people would exclaim, “Wow! I can’t believe it’s been 45 years since I graduated from high school!” I looked at it somewhat differently. I cried out, “Hey, honey … I told you I graduated from high school!”

But even so, 45 years is a long time. To put that time frame into perspective, if I were a rat, the time period since my graduation would have been about 1,273 human years.

That means I would have been born about the year 739, the highlight of that date being that Charles the Hammer became father to Pepin the Short. Pepin later changed his name to Pepin the Little, but people still teased him anyway.
